| Bridges of Hope |
| BGFCN is taking deliberate steps to deepen relationships within the church and build new friendships with our community by establishing “bridging” groups. These groups provide an opportunity for you to connect with others based on a common interest. Hope, Encouragement, and Salvation do not happen in isolation. The Holy Spirit wants to use His work in one life to touch the life of another. For more information, contact Pastor Gary Curry or Ruth Morgan.  Bridging Groups Winter Session Sunday, January 18, 2009 through Sunday, March 8, 2009 Mall Walkers - Meets every Monday morning at 6:45 a.m. at the Greenwood Mall to walk together, engage in good conversation, and enjoy a good cup of coffee. Gain strength through exercise and make new friends. Coffee & Conversation - Meets at Spencer's Coffee House downtown on the square on Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. for coffee and conversation. Have a cup of Spencer's "Perfect coffee, made by flawed people." and share what’s been going on in your own flawed life. Breakfast Club - Meets Saturday mornings at 7:30 a.m. at Teresa’s Restaurant on Gordon Ave for breakfast and conversation. Have a cup of Joe and tell us what you know. Deeper Connections - Meets Sunday evenings at 6:00 p.m. in the Family Ministries Center for fellowship and connections among young adults. Pep Squad - Meets at Bowling Green Parks and Recreation on 1/20/2009, 2/5/2009, 2/12/2009, and 2/19/2009, to cheer for the FCN church basketball team. Watch the game and end the evening with fellowship and conversation at a local food venue. Exploring "The Shack" - Meets Tuesdays to discuss of the fictional book The Shack by William Paul Young. There are two opportunities to meet: 1:15 p.m. at Barnes and Noble in the Cafe, and 5:15 p.m. in the Family Ministries Center. The Shack is a metaphor for the places you get stuck, hurt, and damaged. Search the questions and discoveries of the main character for contrasts and similarities to Biblical Christianity. Prayer Group - Meets Mondays at 6:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary for a time of prayer for each other. Learn the importance of knowing someone “has your back” and is lifting you up to the Father. Friday Night at the Movies - Meets on Friday nights from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at a location to be announced to watch and/or discuss one of the Star Wars trilogy movies and examine the images and themes from “A Long, long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away" searching for similarities to our walk as Christians. Fireproof Relationships - SPECIAL OFFER: Marriage insurance. Free quotes available—you will NOT be turned down. No age restrictions. This group will watch and learn from the new hit movie, "Fireproof". Are you ready for the Love Dare? Will meet Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. Preschool Play Group - Mothers and others who care for preschoolers will meet at a kid friendly location on Thursday mornings at 10:00 a.m. for fellowship and sharing. The first meeting will be Thursday on 1/22/2009 at McDonald’s on Campbell lane across from Lowe’s. |
